Kumasi is the Ancient Capital City of the Ashanti Kingdom, and is a very important and historical City for Ghana. It is the site of The Palace of the Ashanti King, and is West Africa's largest cultural and tourist centre.Kumasi is also host to the largest open air market in West Africa.

Kumasi is the hub of Ghana, with transport links to the whole of West Africa. There are currently 6 flights a day from Kumasi to Accra. Future infrastructure currently in progress includes a new Ring Road around Kumasi which will link it with Accra and other major cities.

A new international airport is currently in the planning stages.
